Currently

Feeling sad for my friend Jenny and the loss of her sweet pup, Gracie.  Abby and I sure loved her.
Finding joy in doing everyday activities with Dakota - like filling 14 bags of leaves from his yard.
Incredibly tired of having muscle pain for the past week.
Happy to see my high school girlfriends have gotten together once a month this year.  It's always so good to see them.
Reading another Elin Hilderbrand book that is making me want to visit Nantuckett.
Talking about Brandi visiting again in a few months.
Working on my Las Vegas scrapbook.
Needing to get caught up on project life.  Seems like I'm always behind in one project or another.
Wondering how to simplify this while still accomplishing all the projects I want to do.
Listening to my iPod on shuffle at work.
Enjoying the extra hour of sunlight.
Getting more fit needs to become a priority next month.
Thankful work has gotten a little lest stressful.
Wishing the weather will get warm and stay warm so we can enjoy being outside more.

Project Life 2014 | Week 5-8

It has been so long since I've shared my 2014 project life.  I meant to share these pages much earlier, but to be honest, I've been really behind in this project.  And some of these pages aren't quite finished, but I'm sharing them anyway.  Hopefully I will be all caught up this weekend!

Week 5 started off hard.  But the weekend was pretty great.  And I got my new lens for my birthday!

Week 6 was my birthday week and we got dumped with snow.  It was actually kinda great!  (The right side isn't quite done because I'm waiting to get a birthday note from dad and Dakota.)

Week 7 was when the olympics began. Dad and I spent many nights watching the games.  It was great!  And then, of course, there was Valentine's Day this week.  I added an enlarged photo of the bouquet Dakota got me.  Last year, we were only dating for a few weeks and this year, just over a year.  I loved reading what he wrote on the card in 2013 and comparing it to 2014.  Absolutely loved it and I'm so glad I have those saved forever.  Can't wait to see what the future cards are going to say!

Week 8 we finally celebrated our (me and Dakota) birthdays with my family.  I also got another lens this week.  A little bit of fun and a little bit of normal, everyday life.

Around Here : Vegas

I'm finally getting around to posting some photos from my trip last week to Las Vegas.  I've been trying to get settled back in with work and meetings, etc.  I still have to unpack, but first, some photos.  Priorities, right?!

^^ We stayed downtown, just a block away from Fremont Street.  We spent a lot of time here, mostly because of convince.

^^ Amber and I met a few Johnny Depps :)

^^ The next day, Dakota, his dad, and I went to Red Rock Canyon.  It is about 20 miles west of the strip and it is absolutely beautiful there.  I know it isn't real 'Vegasy', but it is definitely something you should go see if you visit Vegas.

^^ I took quite a few panoramic photos on my phone so I could get the entire effect of these rocks.  They were incredible!

^^ Since we rented a car for the day, we visited the strip in the afternoon.  We and a late lunch at Gordon Ramsey's Pub, explored Bellagio and saw the fountain show.

 ^^ Inside the Bellagio.

^^ Before we left for Vegas, we watched the movie, Bugsy, which is about how Vegas became Vegas.    One of the fist big hotels was the Flamingo.

^^  The next day was a little chilly so we visited the Mob Museum and walked around Fremont Street again.
^^  That evening we went to see a Cirque du Soleil show.  It was amazing!  We scored some awesome tickets and were in the second row.  I think I was on cloud 9 that night.

^^  After the show we met up with Dakota's sister and her husband for dinner.

^^  Our last day in Vegas, Dakota and I toured the Neon Sign Museum.  It was fascinating and we learned a lot of Vegas history.

^^  That evening we flew home...after an hour and a half delay.  My internal clock is still off from the time change and then coming home to daylight savings time.  Despite having a sleepy week at work, this trip was awesome!

Rory Cuddles

Week Nine
March 1, 2014

D is off on a work trip, so Rory got to come over and hang out at my house.  He wasn't originally going to come over, but we got hit with a snow storm and didn't want to be forced to out in the bad weather to check on Rory.  I was shocked when dad said it was ok for Rory to come over.  Dad isn't a big fan of cats, but these two have become buds.  (Rory spends a lot of the day in dad's room.  He sleeps under dad's bed and looks out the windows in his room.  I think he chooses those windows because he can see the bird feeders from there.)

Rory definitely knows who his momma is.  When he first arrived at the house the first room he explored was my bedroom and he promptly made himself comfortable on my bed.  The prances over to me the minute he sees me enter the room.  He loves to cuddle.  He is not a fan of Abby so we keep them in separate parts of the house.  He is such a cool cat.  I'm so glad Dakota let me rescue him 5 months ago.

OLW February Goals

Instead of setting intentions for the year, I am setting 3 goals to accomplish each month.  Goals that will create moments.  Goals that are attainable.  Goals that are things I need to get done.  Goals that will make me a better person.

1.  Apply for a passport | I looked up all the steps in applying for a passport, but didn't print them off or do anything with them.  I need to do this in March!
2.  Clean my room and keep it clean | I cleaned my dresser and changed my sheets this month.  This has got to change too.
3.  Cross 4 things off my 101 list. | I only completed 1 item off my list and that was to mail something outside of the country.  I have a friend that lives in Germany and she just had a baby so I sent her a baby gift.  I did work on other items on my 101 list, but didn't quite make it to cross it off my list.
4.  Plan my upcoming Las Vegas trip | Trip planned, booked, and I am so ready to go!  Just 2.5 more days!

Clearly you can tell where my priority took place this month--planning a mini vacation.  I'll share more when I'm back :)

March Goals:
1.  Go to Las Vegas and see a Cirque de Soleil show.
2.  Have a good workout 2 times a week.
3.  Get the Bailey family photos in a scrapbook.
