Well, this month is over. In some ways I am very glad because August put us in a whirl. This is what got accomplished:
-I finished my Christmas Advent Calendar. (Just have to put a bow on it.) I am so excited for this little project and CANNOT wait for it to be Christmas! (I'm almost even looking forward to snow!)
-At the beginning of this month we took a trip to Branson. We stayed with some family friends whom retired there. Virgil used to work with my dad when my parents first got married and then again when we lived in Virginia. It was great to see them and get to spend some time with them--they are like family.
-Finished reading The Beach Club by Elin Hilderbrand. Very good. I love how her books have multiple main characters and their lives all are intertwined in one way or another.
-Sent 2 birthday cards out for August.
-Cooked some pulled pork in the crock pot.
-I'm slowly getting back to my goal weight. Mom and I started our evening walks, but they got interrupted by the death in my family. Read here, here, and here. Hopefully we get those started again soon. However, my eating habits have slowed down greatly as a result of the death.
-My chair in my bedroom got fixed, now I just have to paint it! Yay for the fun part!
Movies
I watched a lot of movies this month, but not many from my list. Oops! I'll have to play catch up soon!
-Ben-Hur. I had seen this movie many times when I was little, but I didn't remember much. It is a very good movie, but a little long....3 1/2 hours. (That counts for 2 movies, right?!)
