There is nothing worse than watching one of the people you care most about in this world, purposely poison themselves. Yesterday, dad started a new chemo regimen. Twice a week he will go to the cancer center to have 4 drugs through IV. He will also take a pill orally. This pill is so toxic that he will have to wear gloves when taking the medication. We will know in a month if this drug will cause him to lose his hair or not (it varies from patient to patient). There is a high possibility that these drugs will lower his white count so much that he won't be able to take them. It could also lower his ability to fight sickness and therefor a minor cold could send him to the hospital. We are hoping these side effects won't be too difficult on him, but time will tell.
