To Do | 2012 | February Update

Well, another month has come and gone.  February is the shortest month, yet I kept thinking it was March in the last week of February.  Anyways, the update:

1.  Take a family photo | Taken at my birthday dinner celebration.

2.  Do a 52 week portrait project

3.  Get a 'big girl' job.
4.  Make a dinner for a family who is going through a tough time.
5.  Plan a family trip.
6.  De-clutter my bedroom. | (Under the bed)

  • I cleaned off the top of my desk.  It had piles and piles of stuff.  Next up is the desk drawers (2).  Those haven't been clean in years....
7.  Clean/de-clutter my closet.
8.  Read a least 1 book a month.

  • The You I Never Knew by Susan Wiggs (January)
  • The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks (January)
  • The Help by Kathryn Stockett | To be honest I only kind of wanted to see the movie, but had no desire to read the book.  But my friend said the movie was good, but I had to read the book first.  I'm glad she forced me out of her house with her copy of the book because oh my, it is a good one.  I know they always say that the movie does not do the book justice, but it sure is true about this one.  The movie just skimmed the book.  It is the depth and detail in the book that makes it good.  You can't really do without it and that is what they did in the movie.
9.  Try 3 new recipes each month. (Apparently 3 recipes is too many in a month.  I seem to only do 2.)
  • Panera's Macaroni and Cheese | Not sure about this one yet...
  • Pizza Cups | Not too bad, but the recipe needs a little revision.
10.  Do 3 projects in my craft list. (It is February and I've already completed this, so I'm going to add 3 more to my list, making it 6.)

  • Paper Hearts
  • Decorative binder clips
  • Card book | I wanted to save all the graduation cards I received, but didn't want to throw them in a box along with all the other cards I've received in the past.  So I punched holes in them and bound them rings.  Now they are all together in a nice, neat, organized fashion.  Maybe I'll do this with previous cards....
11.  Finish watching 'Best Picture' oscar movies.  (I actually didn't start my 2011 list until March so I am still catching up on the 'Best Picture' oscar movie list.)
This month we had another year of the Oscars.  Got to add 1 more movie to the list!
  • Hamlet
  • All the King's Men
  • The Greatest Show on Earth
  • Marty | Short, cute, and sweet.
  • Around the World in 80 Days | Not sure how this movie made Best Picture, especially with much better movies in this year....The butler guy was pretty funny though.
  • Lawrence of Arabia
  • Oliver | I think I was more into learning about the people who played the characters than the actual movie.  But it wasn't bad.  It's always nice to see a musical receive a Best Picture Oscar.  Doesn't happen too much anymore.
