Minnesota 2013 | Part Two

Day three of our trip was so so special.  This, by far, was my favorite day of the trip.  Not everyone was excited about excursion, but in the end everyone loved it.  (They are always hesitant about these things and end up loving it in the end.)  On day three we traveled three hours north to Lake Superior and saw Split Rock Lighthouse.

 ^^ The view was breathtaking.

^^ The water was so clear. 

^^ After the lighthouse, we took the scenic route back to Minneapolis.  We stopped at a little outlook and played around by the water. 

^^ I was bummed you couldn't see Abby in this photo :( 

^^ Abby surprisingly really liked the water and laid down right next to the shore.

 ^^ The water was SO cold!  I read that the average temperature is 40 degrees. 

^^ Oh northern Minnesota, I could love you forever.

Saturday Rewind

Yes, the beginning of last week was rough with the flu, but it ended with such happiness.

On Saturday, I went to KC to have lunch with some of my college friends.  It was so great to see everyone again.  I miss seeing them on a regular basis.  I think we have some more get togethers in the future and I can’t wait!

After lunch I got to spend the afternoon with one of my best college girlfriends, Mallory.  We had fun walking around in the sunshine and browsing through some antique stores.  I found a cubby to hold some scrapbooking supplies, just another reason I’m anxious to get my crafting area set up.  (Mallory, I’ll be sure to show you the finished product!)

Then I got to spend the evening with my favorite kiddos!  We jumped on the trampoline, had pizza for dinner, played a round of clue, jumped on the trampoline again, until the sun went down.  And then ended with some movies.

Yes, Saturday was busy but it was the best kind of busy there is!

I know this doesn't follow the typical black and white photo, but I had to leave it in color because I loved the little spec of green grass in his mouth.  It was there the entire photo shoot and I thought it brought a lot to his personality...I'm assuming.  (I'm counting this as black and white because the cow is black and the background is pretty much white.  I figured that counted!)
