I am soft spoken.

I am guarded.

I am a watcher.

I am a person who does not open up easily.

I am a person who believes in fairness.

I often speak words of wisdom well beyond my years.

It is not until I trust, when I truly open up.

And when I love, I love unconditionally.

I am pure.

(Not my words, but words from someone else.)

And not everyone sees that in me.

Not even family members who are blinded by other distractions.

At first I wasn't too sure about these prompts.  But some events happened this week that seemed to fit these prompts perfectly.

Facial Feature

Mom got her new glasses.  She really needed some new ones and I think she looks great!

Shadow

I had no idea what to do for this prompt.  One afternoon I noticed some shadows from the sun coming through our window and Abby's toy chillin in the living room.  Put the two together and this is what I got.  I really quite like it :)

Spicy

Yes, I did just take a photo of the inside of my fridge....

I struggled with this prompt too.  The only thing I could think of for this prompt was food and unfortunately I don't really like spicy food.  But I did find some 'mild' hot sauce and some salsa.

That's close enough, right?

my now

i feel like all i seem to talk about on here lately is heartache and death.

but to be honest,

from october to january, it really didn't hit me on what was going on in my life.

i wasn't fully comprehending what the 3 deaths in 4 months really mean.

that these lives are gone.

forever.

missing.

but now it seems like i am finally catching up with life.

and i am starting to feel it

and process it.

the last few days i've had this feeling of wanting to go to the cemetery.

i don't know why.

the last few days i've wanted to go there,

but i don't.

something stops me.

for some reason i cannot explain.

and because i don't go and calm this storm, it is there reminding me of what is my now.

it is like an unwanted guest

sitting in the corner.

and they won't leave.

Adventures of Abby

Step 1:  Kitty cat stretch

Step 2:  Now stretch the back legs

Step 3:  Yawn

Step 4:  Make a silly face.  (Or finish yawning... Notice the bottom tooth sticking out?)

Step 5:  Wait to see if someone follows her into the kitchen to feed her.  Because, you know, no one feeds her.

By the way, all of these photos were done is about a 3 minute time frame.  Yes, she did these in this exact order.  And yes, it does happen pretty frequently.  Especially the last one.

I really didn't take many photos this week.

Unless it was on my iPhone.

Most of these photos my mom took.

I just helped instruct her on what I wanted it to look like.

However, in my defense,

It has been a slightly busy week with an interview, multiple trips to KC, and turning 23.

I apologize for taking crummy photos this week. (Or not taking them...)

I hope to be back to my normal photography taking skills next week.

Today I turned 23.

Today was mine.

And I enjoyed every little bit.

Day 1:  Cinnamon Rolls for New Years...Yum!

Day 2:  Petsitting.  Waiting for his dog buddy to come back inside.

Day 3:  I was watching a movie and Abby decided she wanted to cuddle.  No worries--I don't need the use of my arms.

Day 4:  Revenge and Pinterest.

Day 5:  Flags at the funeral home.

Day 6:  Sunrise, new lens (graduation gift to myself), sorting through photos of my grandpa Bailey

Day 7:  Mom.  Doestn' look like January at all.

Day 8:  Having a hard time getting to sleep and then staying asleep...

Day 9:  Going to grandpa's visitation.

Day 10:  Celebrating grandpa's life, flowers from his funeral, graduation gift from She-she.
