12of12 | June 2015

I completely forgot it was the 12th until my alarm went off on my phone at 9am.  And then I forgot more times through out the day.  So this is the best I got...

01.  Work.
02.  Leaving work.  Hello weekend!
03.  Gloomy day.
04.  Shopping for a few new charms for my pandora bracelet.
05.  Running errands.
06.  Bought bridesmaid gifts.
07.  Dinner at Chipotle.
08.  Enjoying the dry skies.
09.  Every night is a good night for ice cream for this one.
10.  Our lilies have been incredible this year.  And D accidentally sprayed them with weed killer earlier this year.
11.  "You're home!"
12.  Bed time.

Four Months

This month was stressful, but when I think about it, it wasn’t too stressful with the wedding planning.   It was stressful with all the other stuff going on.  (Hello probably going out of the country for a week next month and not knowing the exact dates!)  Overall, I would say this was a pretty successful month in the planning world.

-        We picked a date for my last bridal shower.  I now have a total of three showers.  I would have preferred there be no more than two, but I feel so loved knowing others are so excited about my day and want to do something special for me.
-        The honeymoon is booked (as in flights and hotels). We are going to Maine!  (This was decided even before we were engaged.  Ha!)   I think I have a pretty solid idea on what we want to do while in Maine, but don’t have tours booked.  I need to look more into that (if I need to book them in advance or decide what day to do what event while we are there).
-        I’ve begun bar tending research.  I think we are almost there!
-        I’ve booked the hair appointment for the wedding day and have a trial hair appointment scheduled.
-        We re-researched tuxes and found a place where we can actually try them on before ordering.  We have it narrowed down to two styles, but I need to set up a try on date before ordering.
-        We had another wedding counseling with our minister.  (We have these monthly.)
-        I contacted someone about make-up and have a trial for later this month.  I hope all goes well!
-        I picked up my dress after alterations have been made.  It’s all ready to go for the day of.  (I’ll get it steamed the week before.)  Next time I put it on will be the wedding day!
-        I ordered Dakota’s ring.  It should be here in two weeks.  I can’t wait to see what it looks like!

-        And this month was the beginning of wedding nightmares.  I don’t dream much when I sleep (or I rarely remember) and I had 2 in one week. ( I’ll share what happened in each because they are kind of funny and I want to remember them later down the road.)

The first one was where the reception basically happened backwards.  Everyone ate at long tables and I sat with mom.  (We are having round tables and I’ll be eating with the bridal party.)  And then I realized that we hadn’t done photos.  So I go to round the bridal party up and they are already out of there dresses and guests are leaving and we are doing photos in the dark.

The second dream was about getting ready.  I show up to the hair salon and forget all my hair pieces and I have no idea what to do with my hair.  And because I don’t know how I want my hair styled, the hair stylists can’t do anything with my hair (like all their tools are gone don’t work, etc.).  And then I also forgot to order the outfits the girl will be wearing while getting ready.

Yeah, pretty crazy.  And you can also see where my mind had been most of this month….hair, bridal party gifts, and reception.  Sounds about right!

Sparkle

Week 23
June 1, 2015

A little late for the month, but I got it anyway.  I'm still learning how to take night photos and struggled a little with this photo.  But it's the three of us and sparklers and it's the best one I got so I'm keeping it.

This month was in honor of celebrating 5 years.

5 Years

Week 22
May 31, 2015

Celebrating 5 years!

I know most people think it's strange to celebrate living with cancer for 5 years, but I see it as surviving for 5 years.  Fighting for 5 years.  5 years....it's worth celebrating.

I so love this little family of mine.

I posted the following on Facebook and Instagram on May 28th.

I’ve been alive for 9610 days. A lot of life happened in those days, moments of laughter, heartache, pure happiness, disappointment, etc. 9610 days and I can pick out one that held more emotion than all those days combined. May 28, 2010. That day was the day my dad was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. That was 5 years ago - only 1827 days ago. That is just a fraction of how many days I’ve been around and yet that one day changed the course of the 1827+ days that followed. It changed me as a person, changed my family, changed my outlook on life. That day changed everything. But that's also 1827 days that I might not have had with my dad. 1827 days I probably shouldn’t have had with him. And the fact that I have had those days is so worth celebrating. Thank you for choosing to fight and not give up on the difficult days. It has not been an easy ride, but it was worth it anyway and that is what matters.

Glidewell/Johnson Wedding

Two weekends ago, D and I traveled to Iowa for one of my high school girl friend's wedding.  It was a great night with my love and my girls!

We had a very late lunch right before the ceremony.  D did this since we were dressed up and didn't want to get food on his new, clean clothes.  He is so adorable :)

We are next!  140 days to go!

  My girls!

And since I love comparisons...
