Project Life 2013 | Week Three

I really love how this week turned out!  I was showing the beginnings of this project to my dad and it lead to getting out almost all of the other scrapbooks I’ve done.  I am so glad I have been documenting my life this way!  It is so rewarding.
I used my favorite photo from Brandi’s trip and cut it up for the left side.  I also added text through photoshop as a make shift ‘date card’ and put text on the bottom to signify my 52 week (like all my other 52 week photos).
I also added an insert to hold more photos from our photoshoot at the park.  (We do this every year she comes to visit me.)  Love these photos!

And some more…
The right side is the ending of Brandi’s visit along with a few other snippets from the week.

Project Life 2013 | Week Two

Sorry, my ‘getting off on a good start’ didn’t last long.  I needed some larger format photos printed for week 2 and 3 and then I got sick.  But, I’m still loving this project!  Week two was special.  My best friend who lives miles and miles away (seriously, about 1000 miles) from me came to visit.  We had a great time together and I’m sad she left.  But it makes it a little easier because we are already talking about our next trip and this time it won’t be in a year and a half!

This is the first time I’m using an insert.  You will be seeing this particular one each month.  I have another project called 12of12 and will be incorporating it into my project life.
The left side is mostly getting ready for Brandi’s arrival.  I blurred out her flight info.
Here is a close up of my 12of12 project.  You can see more here.
The back of my insert has the information from about the day from my post here.
The right side contains photos from Friday night and Saturday.  We met up with some of my college friends and went out.  On Saturday Brandi and I went to our local aquarium.  I know, some of the photos on this page are also on my 12of12, but I wanted bigger versions of the photos in my book because I also marked off another item on my 101 project!

Week two was such a fun week!

Brandi Visits!

Just a few of my favorite photos taken during Brandi’s visit.  We partied in KC, went to Sea Life, our local aquarium, walked around Crown Center, partied at home, took photos at the park, went to see a movie, and went shopping before I dropped her off at the airport.  I think we accomplished a lot during the four days she was here!

Jump

Week Three
January 13, 2013

I seriously do not know what I would do without Brandi in my life.  We met my first year living in Virginia; we were in the same 4th grade class.  By the end of the school year, her family moved into our neighborhood, right next door actually.  We went to elementary, middle, and high school together.  Over the years we made up all kinds of games; school, grocery store, house, nail salon (not imaginary, we did this on my front porch.)  We have seen each other through many boys and crazy nights.  I watched her graduate high school, along with all of our other friends.  She cried when I told her my dad had cancer.  (She is the only person not related to me that cried when they heard the news.)

After I moved we made a deal that we would visit each other every year, each making a trip every other year.  To be honest, I wasn’t really sure how well we could keep it up, maybe a trip or two each and it would slowly dwindle.  But our friendship is too strong for that to happen.  It has been seven years since we were next door neighbors and we haven’t missed one.  (Well, we missed 2012, but we only missed it by 10 days and we already have another trip planned for later this year.)  We have a 15 year old friendship that picks up right where it left off and has no intention of ever ending.

I am so glad to call her my best friend.

My Best Friend Visits!

Week Two
January 11, 2013

My best friend of 15 years came to live with me for four days and it was great!  Her stay was short and sweet and we had a blast.  Ever since I moved we have made a pact to visit each other each year.  She usually visits on the even years and I visit on the odd.  We weren’t able to get our schedules to coordinate in 2012, so she came to visit at the beginning of 2013.  (I’m still planning on going out there later this year so we will still be on track.)  We had so much fun during her stay and I miss her already!

12of12 | January 2013

Wow, starting another year of twelve’s.  So excited!  And this one was extra special.  I got to spend this 12th (and a long weekend) with my longest friend, my old next door neighbor.  The friend who I used to play dolls with (we spent more time carrying our ‘stuff’ over to each other’s houses than actually playing.)  The friend who I used to make up dance routines with and show them off to our moms.  I the person who has always been there for me even though we live miles and miles apart. Yes, this 12th was special and I’m so glad I got to spend it with her.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday | January 13, 3013

Outside

This was taken last week when we got some snow.

Backside
I realize this is not a photo, but to fully capture her cuteness and her tail flutters, I had to use this video.  It was from New Years Eve.  Mom went into a store for a few minutes and this is how Abby greeted her when she got back to the car.  (BTW, this happens all the time and with just about anyone.  I usually get a greeting similar to this one each morning.  I love it!)
