I haven’t participated in SHS in a while.  And guess what, I miss it.  Shame on me.  Most of these photos are ones I collected during my Week in the Life project.  Enjoy!

We bought and planted these flowers in some pots a few years ago.  We put the pots in our front garden and the next year we had petunias popping up through the rocks.  These are the survivors that still manage to make an appearance.

September went by fast, really fast.  It was a pretty good month.  I had so much fun working on my second Week in the Life book.  It is a lot of work to collect the ‘stuff’ and it is a lot of work to put it together, but it is so rewarding in the end.  I can’t wait to see the final product when it arrives in the mail.  (Unlike a lot of people who do this project, I put mine together using Blurb, a book making company.)

This weekend is the second annual Pony Express Run for our Junior League.  I’m really looking forward to this event, it is one of my favorite things we do in the year.  And to make it even better, I know more people who signed up and can cheer on this year!

Currently

Welcoming fall.
Looking forward to scarves, boots, and sweatshirt weather.
Wanting to get pumpkins at our local orchard.
Happy that my stitches are out and I’m still healing.
Smiling each time dad tells me to get my camera to take a photo of something.
Anticipating on getting my Week in the Life book delivered.

Week Thirty Seven

September 10, 2013

This week was the week I participated in Week in the Life where I documented the here and now.  I took a ton of photos during this week which just made it that much harder to choose the one to sum up this week.

In the end, I chose this one.  My mom holding me.  (My parents taking care of me.)  What is not shown in this photo was what happened moments before.  The pain set in and the tears came flowing.  I was sitting on the sofa and my mom came in to comfort me.  My dad began to rush around to get me ice, a blanket (because I was shaking uncontrollably), pillows, and Tylenol.

Needless to say, this week was not glamorous and parts of it were hard…well, more like painful.  This week I had my first surgery, (thankfully minor), and as a result, I got 25 stitches throughout my body.  Most of this week was spent healing and adjusting and still keeping up with regular life, just like every other day.

Project Life 2013 | Week Thirty Five

Welcome to week thirty five (August 25-31).  I look a very different approach to this week with writing something down for each day of the week.  (Of course, after doing this, I realized I should have used this technique for Week in the Life.)

I kept this simple with using a few photos from the week and focusing more on the words.  Each 3x4 spot contained notes about what happened each day of the week.  I used Ali Edward's days of the week circles overlay.  

There were lots of everyday events.  The hair dresser, dinner, book reading, etc.  It was a great ordinary week.

Welcome to week thirty two (August 18-24).

This week was Trails West weekend and I added our tickets (buttons) along with a photo of the stage.  I think Ashley Monroe was performing when I took this photo.

On Sunday we spend part of the day outside.  Dad cut some tree limbs down and Abby chased bubbles (and I took photos).

The last photo on this page is from Uncle Bobby’s grave.  I still can’t believe it has been two whole years since he has been gone.

 The right side includes a lot of text and stories about this week.  I’m trying to add more journaling so I can remember exactly what happened when this week becomes a much older one that gets lost in the memories.

I also added our World of Fun tickets.  (So sad I didn’t get a photo.)  D’s work had a play day and we went to the amusement park.  His sister and brother in law came with us too.  It was a fun day!

Welcome to week thirty three (August 11-17)

This week I was sick.  I think it was because I didn't get much sleep from my trip to the beach and then my friend's wedding festivities began and kept me very busy.  The day after the wedding I took a 3 1/2 hour nap.  It was blissful!

This week was also the 12th and I added an insert for that day.  The right side showed my dinner date with E and J and I added those sequins in a pocket all by themselves as a filler.  Love this look!

Week in the Life 2013 | Friday Photos and Words

Friday.  The end of a long week and strange week.  I haven't uploaded my photos on my camera yet, but here is a sneak from of my Friday from my phone.

Work

Driving and riding.  Playing musical cars this week while my car was waiting to get new tires, so dad took me back to work after lunch.

Feet up.  Puppy laying next to me.  Boy feet on my lap.  Watching him play the Wii.  My life of babysitting, I'm so thankful for this family!
